The ‘Art of Effective Listening –Building Empathy and Rapport'
April 16th 2015 12-1pm

Our recent webinar attracted over 100 registrations; on a topic close to our hearts-Mark Bramwell from Bramwell Solutions took us through The Art of Effective Listening.  With a background in psychology, and as a trained coach and facilitator, Mark was able to draw on experience and theory in this webinar.

Mark covered the need to be aware of preconceived ideas and stereotypes and these may bias our opinions and affect how we listen and the effectiveness of our listening skills in that situation.

The webinar covered effective listening habits, and using a simple listening test, shows how easy it is to fall into the habit of hearing what you want to hear, or making assumptions without listening to the whole piece.

Building empathy is an important tool for developing relationships and with some guidance on why it is so important, Mark covered some tips for building empathy and developing rapport.  A simple task of asking questions and ensuring you listen to theanswer!  Prove you’ve heard by paraphrasing and repeating terms. Effective questioning techniques were covered, including the power of silence.

While how to listen might seem straightforward and obvious, this webinar reminded us all on the need to focus on the right things for more effectiveness.

Sept 4th – Train your Brain to look for the good

Divya Hemnani loves empowering others to be the brightest and most brilliant versions of themselves.

Although she has researched the mysteries of the mind for over a decade, obtaining degrees in neuroscience, psychology, and cognitive sciences from Oberlin, a top tier liberal arts university in the US, she continues to dedicate herself to understanding the nature of belief and the mind-body connection as a Brain Trainer. As the Founder & Director of the Intrinsic Brilliance Institute, Divya uses her passion and knowledge about the power of neuroplasticity to help people train their brains to produce the thought patterns that give rise to what they most desire in life.

Having struggled since adolescence to satiate the burning question, "what's the purpose of living?" Divya began playing in the personal development space when she realised that science doesn’t provide a satisfying answer. The answer, she discovered, lies in connecting to the wisdom within through mindfulness. Having experienced firsthand how drastically life changes when your mind changes, Divya is on a mission to inspire joy and resiliency within others.

If you missed the webinar, click here to watch the replay..

So many people suffering from the feeling of not being good enough, also known as the Imposter Syndrome, have never recognised their own talents and successes which makes it impossible for them to make their unique contribution. In this keynote, the concept of the Imposter Syndrome is introduced in a way that helps individuals recognise the symptoms in themselves (70%) or others they are close to. They get to see the typical coping behaviours and understand the business and work benefits and consequences. Through case studies and personal experience, they will see how they can move beyond Imposterhood™ to discover and release the talented stranger within – for the benefit of all they associate with.
